Ethical Business Programme
Ethical business means companies are involved in a process of trying to ensure that the basic rights of the employees in their supply chains are respected.
These relate to aspects such as working conditions, health and safety , payment of wages, discrimination, environment protection etc.
IRFT works at the intersection of business development to encourage mainstream businesses to conduct operations in socially responsible manner and also monitor such activities. We believe that business and trade are the engines of growth, and play, an undeniably crucial role in development.
Ethical Business Programme of IRFT works with commercial businesses in sensitizing them about their developmental responsibility. We work with mainstream businesses to help them understand the ethical dimensions of their work. We chart out creative and sustainable ways of improving wages, working conditions and bettering health and safety and environment conditions. We believe that by doing this, we would enable the numerous factory workers in the
un-organized sector and the multitude of home workers - to lead a decent life, as also ensure a conducive work environment in factories thereby increasing productivity.
